If I could afford to be a minimalist -I would be one, but for now, this one's for the creative kids.

The inspiration behind Banana Ting Tings.
1. Maroc, couleur désert (Morocco, desert colour) exhibition taken by Serge Anton.
2. Princess of Nubia  by Foyin Og.

Greetings Reader,

I realize it's been a minute but now I'm here and there's a lot of creativity to be shared. Let's get to it?

I stumbled across the Morocco, desert colour exhibition images on Dynamic Africa and I was pretty much amazed at the imaginative art direction of the shoot. I figured,  "Heck yeah ! I'm inspired and I would love to execute this from my perspective.", and the only way being was to: ask my brother's girlfriend to be the photographer, dig through some items of clothing that do not belong to me and hang a poes heavy lounge carpet on the washing line.

And may I mention that Foyin had once upon a Sunday posted some appealing images of herself - which I was pretty much obsessed with. When she had posted a similar look to the images, Princess of Nubia, I was like eff yes dammit. Those gems above the brows are the future.

Moving right along...

After much delay due to the attempt to blotch my eyebrows out and styling some stolen items from my brother's, Mama's and Makhulu's wardrobe the natural light was fading quickly (and the gloomy Cape Town weather was not helping either).

We headed to the neighbour's hedge, which still attracted some light,  in our contrasting outfits. The "bypassers" were not staring (it's rude to assume one is staring) but rather they were looking ... for a rather long time.

Finally, we managed to produce something worth posting. I hope you like it. Sharp.

YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH BLACK. Even in the bathroom.

The outfit: Bowler hat | Truworths, Traditonal (Xhosa) necklace, Thrifted sheer top. White bandeau, Black high-waisted pants, Orange sneaker wedges | Zando.co.za
Taking these pictures felt like torture. The heat in my room is ridiculous. The make-up was literally melting off. So I thought I should make this post short and sweet.
Enjoy! x

Since I have tiny eyes, I tried out the white eyeliner theory.
Besides the fact of looking like a doll, it actually works.
You apply it the same way you would apply your black eyeliner. & don't forget your mascara.
You might want to add a line of black eyeliner.
- I had to add an effect; I'm going for that 60's feel.
"Yaaaah deeeg?!"

This post was a tricky one to do.
Usually I don't brainstorm or research how I'm going to do a particular post - it's one of those 'moment kind of moments'? If God pops an idea into my head, I react immediately because if I don't, my brain doesn't function properly. laughs
Yeah - IN OTHER NEWS!!!!
This post was actually inspired by the song "Blackbird" by The Beatles.
So yes, I would advice you to play the song while viewing these pictures - it creates that magical moment. Eeeek!
Enjoy! x

Day 3 was great. I spent the day with Michaela (the beautiful lady below). We were assisting in the 'How to' photo shoot by Asanda and it was - let me say - a learning experience. Although I can't recall the rest of the day, that Eat-zza (is that how you spell it?) from Debonairs was yummmy drools.
Anyway baybay - enjoy the pics!

Yay! I spotted my pic on the Black Fashion blog - Eeeek!
Random, I know - but I get excited over such things :/

The second day was work day. I stayed in the office all day trying to complete my task but unfortunately my brain wasn’t too keen on doing anything. I felt so drained and I could feel my body sliding off the desk. It was only day two, and the hours had already gotten to me - tough times I tell you. But yeah, I didn't have time to take any pictures at work so I decided to take them after work, while I was waiting for my mother to finish her "paddling session".
Sadly some of these pics were taken in the car, others,  in the Mr Price changing rooms - I had no option really. I'm sorry for the sucky quality. But who are we fooling? My camera is not much of a rockstar.
But let me tell you, taking these pics was a mission and a half! The things I do for love...

This outfit is basically an illusion [?] or am I lying? shrugs shoulders
mmm...
This outfit is an outfit on top of an outfit.
Outfit 1 [beneath]: Sheer blouse and leather skirt
Outfit 2 [top]: Cotton dress.

Pretty cool huh?!!
